Real-time Rescheduling with Execution Monitoring
and Accurate Asset Tracking
PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATORS : Dr. Douglas R. Smith
OBJECTIVE: The goal of this work is to demonstrate the effectiveness
of a generic architecture for real-time asset tracking and dynamic scheduling/rescheduling.
APPROACH: The main elements of the proposed approach are (1) a rescheduling
architecture, (2) synthesis of fast rescheduling algorithms, (3) synthesis
of sentinels, (4) execution monitoring, and (5) high-accuracy asset tracking.
PROGRESS: This project is expected to start in June 1997.

FY98 OBJECTIVES:
- Determine an application to serve as a focus for our technology development efforts.
- Develop techniques for generating continuous rescheduling algorithms.
- Develop a generic architecture for real-time asset tracking and dynamic scheduling/rescheduling.
- Develop techniques for synthesizing sentinels.
